Default Coup d'tat

The attempted coup begins

One becomes three

The floodgate opens

The battle begins

Undeterred, the victor and his spoils. For giggles, I shot this with the F70EXR.

Wonderful series!!!

Flickers can be pretty tough birds. I once saw one beat off the attack of a Merlin.

Thanks, Dave. Obviously, the 5-6 starlings that moved in were no match for him. 3 departed almost immediately after the first attempt. The others got the snot beat out of 'em and left much worse for the effort.

A fun series. A neat opportunity taken good advantage of.

Thanks very much. The Yellow-bellied Sapsucker I captured today was no match for them. I had to do the starling chase-off for him.
