Default a Sleepy Great Blue heron

I went for a walk the other day around the park an managed to get a few shots of several birds. As he sat there sleeping, he became vaguely aware someone was watching him...

GW - Maybe it's a she, and she was winking at you (should I call your wife about this??). Were these taken with the 55-300? Very sharp and clear, and fine color!

Thanks guys,
I was pretty tired myself when I posted these, it was a half hour past my bedtime.
I meant to add, the smaller photos are crops of a sequence of shots I took.

Mole. I'm safe as long as the other females have feathers!
Yes these were with the 55-300mm @ the full 300/f:11

Great Blue Herns in Brooklyn are well known for boozing it up. Maybe this guy was just hung over? Dave

I'm in Mesa Arizona for the next couple of months (no snow here). Can't post any photos of my own 'cause the laptop lacks the horsepower for my photo editing application. But I'll be checking in on the forum every now and then. Cheers, Dan
