In a remote section of the Smokey Mountains National Park. Re-introduced east of the Mississippi River after the last on killed in the 1700's.

cool shot , got some earlier this summer couple different times of an elk that has made his way about 80 miles from where they were reintroduced a few years ago here in Ontario. I keep trying to find this guy again but havn't seen for a while.

Well... sense we're on the subject of Re-introduced elk in the Smokey's, I guess I'll share a couple shots I got last year in Tenn. while on vacation.
![]() It was fun to get so close to them! As you can see they have there tracking collars on...

![]() Here is the original. That yellow tag on the ear was just so distracting. And why do half a job when can take the collar out as well. ![]() What I found interesting though, the younger ones born there were not collared or tagged.

LOL, I have to admit I was curious about the lack of collar and tag. I didn't even stop to think about cloning them out. You did a great job.
As to the younger ones not having them, my guess is they probably will as soon as they get the chance. you know how fashion goes, once one of them get one they all think they have to have one! ![]()
