Default Help identify...Hummingbird

Could someone tell me....is this a Rufous hummingbird? It was taken in Colorado. Thanks for your help.

Mandy....
I am not a Hummer expert but looking this guy up in one of the links I have, it looks like like a male Rufous...Good shot...

Yes, I think John at the Beach is right; it does appear to be the Rufous hummingbird, and they pass thru Colorado during their migrations.

Great capture considering that these birds rarely sit! I was chasing a Hummingbird once but it was just impossible to get a decent photo, even with my 7D.

I chased this sucker 'round for at least 1 hr. It's like they know you're trying and deliberately out pace you. He liked to sit on this branch so it was pretty easy to get him here...just not on the flowers. Oh well.....will keep trying another time. Thanks for your kind words.

You're very welcome! At least you know you can see and chase them from time to time... we don't have them in Gulf Shores, not even speaking of Romania. The only one I ever saw was in Georgetown, TX. Good luck next time!
