These ladies love the seeds in the seaoats...

Lighting. composition and bokeh are really good, especially in the last one. Hare to make the drab females look good, but you managed it. Well done.

Awesome shots.

Their golden belly reminds me of a camel hair rug I own.

I'd like to reach out and touch them.

Just curious --- what camera/lens combo are you using? You've really got it happening with that setup.

Thank you all for the great ego boost...I was very pleased with the shots also...These were taken about 30 minutes after sunrise....I think that helped more than anything because it gave the ladies that "camel rug" color, as TerryR mentioned...Shooting the birds at the beach with all the white sand and brilliant sun is tough enough...
TerryR....I use a Canon 50D with a Canon 100-400L lens...I mostly shoot AV Mode at f5.6 - f8.0, depending on the light..And with the birds, I have to shoot at 400mm...Thank god for IS....With this shot I was about 30 yards away...I wanted to get a bit closer but they were taking off with every step I took, so I stopped and let them get use to me standing there...As it turned out the DOF worked just perfect...
Glad you all like the shots...Thanks again for your comments...
