Default Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge

Need to kill sometime before my flight, so I went to a nature preserve close to JFK and shot some birds. This fella found his dinner for the night.

Thanks Ordo,

I am surprise how relatively fast the ef 70-300IS USM is even though it does not have ring mount USM.

Hey ST: good shots. I really like the series of the gull flying with the shellfish in his beak.

Good BIF's ST! I have not had much success with BIF's (the ones with flapping wings that is). Looks like the gull will be haing clams casino for dinner!

Thanks Jelpee,

I like shooting BIF with the flapping wings. A excellent exercise to work on my tracking, keeping that skill of panning and tracking action in good shape. Also helps to have pretty fast AF lenses like the canon ef 70-300mm. But keeping my skills up, allow me to use a slightly slower AF lens and get excellent results as well in my sea gull shots with the DAL 55-300 on the k-x.
