Default The one that got away!

Look closely at the damage pattern on the shell top of the turtle on the right.

Don't you know that there is a gator out there somewhere telling the others about the turtle dinner that got away. LOL!

Actually Steve, your two small friends are growing, and they are shedding their scutes. The one on the right a bit more visible then his buddy to the left. Nice capture by the way.

That's interesting. Here are the animals that shares the water with the turtles.

Emptyquiver, that is an interesting and logical explanation. If you don't mind, however, I would like to ease back into fantasy land with Steve and the turte chomping gators!

Reality has a way of ruining my perception also. So in line with Roberts' thinking, I would like to think the red spot on the gaters lip in the second photo would bolster the turtle story, perhaps a bite to a bid for freedom. LOL

Hi Steve, I've never seen a shell like that before. hope you got a long lens, those Gaters look mean. I had a tortoise for 40 years they cant half move some when they see a ripe tomato.
