Default I'm not really a "pink" kind of person.

But I love these birds, usually they just stand around hoping you admire them or they have their beak underwater feeding.

On this occasion one was splashing water around and fluffing up and spreading it's wings, then another came to join him ?? her.

These are a threatened species and the first time I have seen one in the wild that was banded and one had two bands.

1)

2)

3)

4)

5)

6)

7)

8)

I was thinking to submit one of these to POTD.
Saly and smac, Let me know when you post your excellent duck series to POTD so I know what days to avoid, you would have it hands down.

Cheers.

Roseate Spoonbill, the first one we saw at a distance and thought it was a flamingo.

Excellent shots Loren - hard to pick out the best but I think #4 is my favorite.

Thanks, it's hard to make a pick but I like #3.

Great shots, Loren!!! What beautiful feathers, wow (not the prettiest face, though ) I really like the look of the feathers in #6, but maybe cropped to a square aspect ratio.

Thanks for the comments, it was a great opportunity.
Saly, I'm leaning towards # 6 also. Will try the square crop and see how it turns out.

I have been busy lately, back into web programming and development.
I made a nice photo gallery and will be putting a portfolio online, basically an archive of what's been posted here.
