All of the Mandarin and most of the Wood Ducks have left for the season, but I saw this cutie this week. I had never seen one before!

They are quite cute indeed. What's better is that if you have the chance to watch one for awhile you will notice that instead of always diving like other waterfowl, they will just simply sink like a ship. Quite amusing to watch. An excellent capture.

Cool capture. We have had one of these little guys hanging around a local boat dock. Lots of fun to watch.

Thanks guys! What an odd looking fellow, isn't he? Looks like he's got electrical tape around his beak. Then I'm not sure what is happening with his backend but he seems to have his legs out of the water!

Great shot of a cute little bird! They do seem to have their legs attached 'way back!
Ours are usually very shy and dive quickly, but some individuals less so... Clint - we'll have to go out there and help clean all the tape off his beak... |
