Default Wife Wants to Know - Another Bird ID

These little greenish/brown/black guys like to visit our feeder (got some snow on one of their heads today). Wife would love to know what they are. Any ideas? (Canon 10D with Sigma 50-500mm)

Thank you. The wife is happy - so I'm happy.

BTW, that first picture is very nice. Great detail and good focus. I'm constantly amazed by how well the 50-500 works... for such a zoom range is is very nice.

Yes, you've got some very nice feather detail in the first shot and I like the colour tones. Now you need just a little more light, and a gleam in the birds eye....

Regards,
Graham.

Goldfinch in winter dress. In summer the female looks much the same but the male turnes vivid yellow and black. AKA as wild canaries
