Default western scrub jay

we don't get these little fellas in Washington, but i spotted this one at a rest stop in Utah...

Do you mean the state or DC? Scrub Jays are indeed in Western Washington (not sure about the rest of the state). I see them quite often but only in select areas. Have yet to get such a nice pic of one though. Very nicely done.

thanks, John. i know we have Stellar jays aplenty, but i've never seen one of these in Washington state... i live in western WA - where have you seen them?

I have seen them in a few areas in Tacoma and Lakewood. There seems to be local populations in some neighborhoods. Nothing like the quantity of Stellar Jays we have.
