Default Hawaiian Monk Seal

In Hawaiian, `Ilio holo I ka uaua, which means, "dog that runs in rough water."

Went to Laniakea Beach yesterday (known more for the protected sea turtles that frequent the area but a lone endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal was on the beach, where it was roped off from the curious). Had a great sunset also. Waited till he was peeking at me.

For an HDR sunset shot a little later,

A rare opportunity to capture an image of a rare animal. Nice to see one. Thanks for posting.

It looks a bit out of focus with the head. Think you focus point was off.
