Default World's Smallest Raptor & The Butterfly - Pied Falconets Part 2

Well almost.

Having enjoyed a number of dragonflies (and a small bird the day before I heard) this time one of the parents caught a butterfly and then proceeded to sit on the bough and call the fledgling in to share in the errr umm 'feast' ?

6. Come Back to the Table !


7. Two Wings


8. Mum (Mom) .. I dropped it !


9. Where'd it go ?

Thanks for sharing both of your posts. What a cute little hunter. I had know idea there were falcons that small. Beautiful photos showing some parenting behaviors.

Wow, I also had no idea there are such tiny falcons as these!! They are so beautiful (and cute), thank you so much for sharing these photos with us, they are amazing!!! Wonderful images.

GREAT set of images! I especially like #11, you can see the wisdom of age and the innocence of youth. Really nice job.
