Default Great Egret Series

Came across this guy with his feathers all ruffled up. Usually a sign that another bird is getting too close. There wasn't any other bird near by, unless they'd already left. If may have been a preening behavior, or just a need to shake everything loose.



He started to shake things back into place, trying to get back to that elegant Egret look.



Ahhh! Almost there, just a few more feathers to smooth down....



There...now I look like that sleek, elegant creature everyone loves to photograph. Bring on the photogs!

really enjoyable series, I love seeing wild animals behaving in ways that seem at least a little silly, thanks for sharing!

I saw that kind of pose on a tree where the Egrets were nesting. Very nice!
