This series 3 TC like the Canon remains super fast in AF while not degrading the picture IQ that much.

I do both as the background is so far away and flat, it does not matter that much for most shots. Also with the orientation of the dam, the eagles tend to travel parallel to the camera from my location...

I switched in and out between single-shot and continuous AF throughout the morning depending on the circumstances: Continuous AF when they flew low to the water and single-shot AF when they tend to be higher in front of trees as the lens switched back and forth between the eagles and the branches.

I have really enjoyed your eagle series as well.
I have to ask, where is this? If I ever get back East with my gear I'll have to to check it out.
