I finally got an opportunity with an Eagle today. Had to stretch the glass and crop just to get this shot.

Glad you liked it. I am a newb with just the kit lenses, and we dont see eagles that often around here. I am just glad I finally had an opportunity to snap a few off. After yesterday you all amaze me with your perfect focus in flight shots. I'm just not quick enough yet. I also was so afraid of blowing the rare chance I put the camera in full auto mode and shot.

That's a good first shot of a Baldy. Once the baldy's get in you blood, you just can't stop!!!
The one's that I frequent like to sit still for a long time. While they are doing that, it's a great time to experiment with your settings to see what works for you, then just keep practicing. In flight shot ops come quickly and don't usually last long, you have to be ready!! |

Shooting eagles was how I first started taking bird pictures several years ago. Looks like you're off to a great start. Nice shot.
