Default Are these rails?

I am not a birder and know very little about birds in general. We have a lot of these little birds feeding on our beach area.

They look like Sanderlings (the lighter birds) and Western sandpipers ( the darker) to me. However, a second opinion would be wise. Great shots in any case.

Steve, thank you for identifying these little birds and the difference between the 2 species. No second opinion needed! I just confirmed it on Google.

I agree, very nice series. #2 is my favorite too. I also like the flight shot.
