Default Button Buck

One of the fawns from spring showing the pedicels that will provide the base from which the antlers will grow in the future. At this time they are called button bucks. BTW that is his mom.

Cool, I've never seen that before. Thanks for sharing.

Great detail on these also.

wow JJ your deer shots are always great but this is exceptional because of the scene.

I can almost hear the son saying "awh mom stop it" as she grooms him!

Was this shot with the FZ35? I am really really considering swapping my long lenses for the E-PL2 for a FZ200 and keep the E-PL2 for shorter prime lens shooting. I hate to get two cameras but everything I see from the FZ series shows it is a superb choice for wildlife.

Yes this one was with the FZ35. The FZ series are great cameras but like all small sensor long range zooms they have thier limitations. I have been using them since 2004 and they work for me. I like to travel lite.

I'm on the lookout for a good price on a used FZ150 myself.

The FZ200 is $419 at J R Camera, it's one of the hot deals today, sure is tempting when you consider the cost of an 600mm equivalent f2.8 lens. I think I'm going to try and hold off and keep shooting with what I have, I also like to travel lite which is why I chose micro four thirds and I can get great IQ with a small bag, adding the FZ200 for zoom along with the E-PL2 for prime lenses would kind of defeat the purpose.

That's a good price on the FZ200, must resist.
