Default Pileated Woodpecker

Although normally shy, this one hung around for a while.

Wow! I love these. Is that his tongue in #2? By far my favorite bird, and so hard to capture without alot of luck.

Thanks. Yes, that's the tongue, only part way out. I was lucky to get these shots. It flew by quickly and I lost it. A short while later, I noticed another photographer creeping up on it. It was all I could do to just stay where I was - didn't want to spoil someone else's shot. Fortunately after a while, the woodpecker just moved a few trees over and we could both continue shooting.
