Default Great Egret

I came across this Egret a few days ago, slowly came up behind it with camera ready to go and it flushed almost immediately so only got a quick in flight shot. Found it feeding a few days later. That time it stayed much longer.

Brilliant bird in flight shot! The angle is really interesting how he's banking so you can see both wings backlit like that. The 2nd shot is very nice as well, but that blurred foreground really draws my eye. Would maybe be better cropped out even though the viewer would be left wondering why the feet were cropped out.

I know what you mean about the foreground. I was disappointed that it was there, but the egret flew off before I could move forward. I'll try some crops.

These guys are everywhere, probably the most common wading bird of North America. Back-lighted in flight pictures are precious. Picture #1 has my vote!
