Default a flicker in the grass

caught this handsome fellow hunting for ants in the grass at a park on Thursday... he let me get within about 25 feet, so i was able to get some nice shots... the last one is full-frame, no crop, just resized. the other two are cropped slightly for composition. 7DII, 550-600mm, 1/2000 @ f/8

Rocky, gorgeous shots of the flicker. I like the first photo with him peeking at you thru the grass. Very nice!

actually, they spend a fair bit of time on the ground foraging for ants (one of their favorite foods) in the grass, like this fellow was...
