Default California quail

this handsome fellow was roosting on a fence post beside the road on the way back toward "civilization" last evening... i saw him, slammed on the brakes (no traffic on a dirt back road, so no other cars to worry about... ) and grabbed the camera. didn't want to get out and spook him, as i was only about 20 yards away, so i shot this out the window... got about a dozen photos before he decided it was time to move along...
