Default northern harrier

went up to a nearby wetland meadow this afternoon to look for owls... saw one short-ear, but it stayed far away, and i never got a shot. there was one very cooperative female harrier, though, and i got some nice shots of her from about 20 yards away...

How fantastic to find a harrier that cooperates. She's a beauty too.

thanks, guys! it's relatively hard to get shots of them on the ground... they're usually quite far off. but this one landed in some short grass about 60 feet away and just posed for me... and i didn't even have to pay her!
