I runned it through NoiseNinja and cropped it, also sharpened it a little more.

Beautiful birds. Makes me want to try using RAW format, too (though I doubt I could catch anything so spectacular as those cranes!). I do like the last composition best, nicer sense of balance than the centered one earlier.

I think that looks great. The sky is much smoother and not distracting, while showing great detail in the wing. I've always been a fan of that wing shape when the are just landing.

Do you like Noise Ninja? I've heard good things about it.

Some say it gives better results than Neatimage, I can't confirm that cause I never tried them side-to-side, but it defenetly gives good results and I find it easier to use than Neatimage, it's not free though.
