my original picture seems to have disapeared so I reposted it.couple of hawk pictures. here

he is taking off.here he is giving me the "you want somathis" look.

This is my first post so still trying to work out how this works.

Hawks are lovely birds, keep taking the picture.

I don't know if you lightened the first picture or not, but it seems a little light. You might try darkening it a bit and then increasing the contrast. That might bring out the colors of the hawk more.

I agree with eric on the suggestions for the first one and I also applaud you for taking a few magnificent shots of a great looking bird. I especially love the expression in the second one's face. A bit of darkening and contrast increase is minor. You've done an excellent job, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the responses guys. Appreciate your comments.

I have had my camera for 3 weeks now and am still learning and I really appreciate the constructive comments.

The sun was on the wrong side of the hawk and the first picture of the bird actually came out quite dark. Next time I will use spot metering. I did brighten it quite a bit and appears I overdid it. I will take your suggestions and go fool around with it some more.

I was pretty lucky getting this close to this wild hawk and really lucked out getting the wing extended shot. Glad you liked it.
