That's very cool. Does that sort of thing happen often? I'm assuming it's a bird well known for that sort of thing. What is it?:-)

Oh, ok. I feel slightly embarrased now as we do get them here. Although I've never seen one as close as that before. I tried to capture one once on film with a 300mm lens, but he was too small.

Nice to hear from you again Ferny. There is no reason to feel embarrased! I used a 400mm lens for this shot. Location: an oasis in the Jordanian desert. I am sure you get them in the United Kingdom. I spent 5 years in the U.K. as a student at Lancaster University, and I am familiar with the British countryside such as the Lake District.

Glad to share information.

Thank you dear members for your interest and comments. Yes, I was fast. But the Pied Wagtail gave me enough time to secure a good quality photo. I guessit was impressed byits own reflection thatit froze long enough for me to react.
