If your camera has exposure compensation, you might want to lower it by at least -1 when shooting in bright sunlight. Afterward, you can always lighten spots that are a bit too dark, but when highlights get blown out, there's nothing you can do with them.

That said, you've an excellent eye for composition. I particularly like the contrast of the red dragonflyagainst all the green around it.
