This was on my roof today, the male was puting on a real dance, bobbing up and down and preening himself, the female seemed uneffected by him and flew off:-)

Sorry, my books don't cover birds in your region unless they're also found in North America. But, excellent shot. You're doing quite well with your new cam! :crazy:

nice shots! that's some "do" isn't it?!

i have to ask..how are you exposing these? they are nice and sharp...aren't noisy, and are taken at sunset?!

Geez, and I thought the auto mode on my Fuji S5000 was pretty good. Wow, niiiiice photos. I'm with the rest of you on thinking it's a pigeon of some sort, although I've never seen one like it. Pretty bird, though.

I have a friend who just picked upa digital rebel, I've been trying to get him to start posting here. He takes mostly people photos with lots of hard shadows for effect.... I can't wait to see some of his stuff with the new Canon. It seems to be a pretty amazing camera.
