You know, I have a book with both, and the house wren looks closer, upon very detailed investigation. You guyz are quite amazing.

If I were amazing I would have already identified the sparrow for sure. As you can see above, I've asked for both Eric's help...

Howdy, it sure not a House Sparrow, not with the pattern on the belly. The problem is (already told Norm, and he knew that too) it's so overexposed, its hard to tell which species, but I'll carefully study this when I'll come back from work.

nice photos, Im impressed with your ability to find so many different breeds. Right now I have a limited amount of birds that Ive a chance to photograph. Im about to post some I took today.

normcar nice results from your trip to the bird supermarket. Wow what an assortment for one day.

That first shot of the Goldfinch is SWEET! Love that bird, I have never seen one in the wild. If I do you can bet I will be chasin it all over.

The Blackbird shot is a classic pose. Very nice!

Cool catch on the giant bug. Glad you posted those shots. Gross is right, major splat factor on that one.
