Wow, Slipe, this, and a Snowy right outside the door! Someone, could be a bit crazy, once brought out the theory that the Garden Of Eden was right here, in Florida. Evidence I see sure does not disprove the theory, ain't We so lucky to be here?!

I get very ill on planes (I throw up so much I scare the flight attendents!) If I didn't, there are many places I'd love to go and photograph. Flordia is on my list (St. Augustine Alligator farm looks great, for example.)

I'm sure I get some birds you don't get down there, but I know you get many more than I get up here. And I'd love to see and hopefully photograph them all.

Slipe - I'll do some searching. One of my birdbooks describe the lores in the immature is being yellow-green. They have a picture of it with only a touch of black on the bill (but on both top and bottom) but the lores are too small to really see the color of (it's a fully body picture.)

Eric, if You ever hit the gator farm in nesting season, We will have to scrape You off the scenery.l It is something else, the predators can't get to the nests unless they get past the Gators, and the Birds just take advantage.. As a local Redneck Boy, I can get in at discount rate, but still can't hang around as much as I would like. Right now, no big concentrations, just got to cruise around and keep Your camera ready.

I just bought a plastic, inflatable boat, supposed to float two, We will see, too old to tote a canoe like I once did, if the D thing sinks on Me, save My SM cards,l I will be shooting until the last.:-)Monday, got to sit by the hard road and watch for Fedex, new lens coning in from OLY, rainy season here, no way will Fedex make it up the driveway.

You know something, Ive never seen a Great egret live, I really dont know if we get them here in Australia. They seem to be a much photographed bird in other parts of the world. Does anyone know if these bird exists in Australia????

PS. nice to see the change in tone in here, much more friendly. I really hate to see people with a common interest argue so this change in here makes me happy:-)

Julie, the Great Egret does occur in Australia! See this page to read about it.

Remember, Google is your friend I entered the keywords "Great Egret" and Australia into the google search engine and the page I linked to above was the first hit that came up.

And, yes, I like the change of tone in here too!

Thanks Geoffs, I had a look at the site. It did not specify where in Australia they are but I live in the right habitat for them so will keep my eyes open for them.
