I shot these yesterday, this is at the local wetlands in my area. The bird is about canary size but is the loudest in the area, I dont know what this bird is but you can hear it well before you see it:-)

Ah, yes. One of those feathered opera singers. We have several of that type here in the states. Probably related!

Nice shots. A little soft, but if they are anything like the similar types we have here (I'm not talking literally, just the type that pops out and sings like that) they don't stay there for long... so in that situation these are very well done.

Way to go on the bird shots, Julie! The last one seems the best of the bunch - it's the sharpest and I like the bird's pose.

If this bird were in North America I'd think it was a flycatcher, but being that it's in your neck of the woods, I have no idea... :roll:

I had packed up everything and was just holding the rebel with the 300 lens and my digital video camera when i saw this little guy, he was ab fair way from me so i had to crop these in a lot, and being hand held did not help. but Im glad i caught him because Ive never managed to get a shot of this bird before.:-)Ps, hubby got some good video shots with exellent sound of the bird.
