Good shot. I live in an ex whaling town (our whaling station was the last to close down in Australia in the mid 1970s)

Now days there is more interest in whales "alive". the whale watching industry is huge here. This is a shot of the whaling station which is now a whaling museum.





these are a couple of southern right whales





thought you might be interested in a look.

EnglishBob, I missed your shots. I was going to say about the whale migration along the california coast and then I saw you are a local guy. Nice shot. You may want to try to straighten the horizon in post editing.

I did straighten the horizon... then posted the wrong picture! Idiot me.

The picture owes a lot to shutter lag and luck.... I took the picture with a Fuji Finepix 3800, and had framed both whales blowing... 2 seconds of shutter lag later I liked what I got much more!
