Here's an old shot from Longboat Pass near Sarasota. Comments welcome.

This is a real pretty bird, Tom, and your exposure looks great along with the colors. I miss the bottom part of the legs, though, since legs are quite a distinct feature on this bird. But that would be my only negative on what to me would be an otherwise super shot.

Thanks, Norm.

I agree about the legs; it would really make this shot to see them. Though this shot is only from 11 months ago, it is from a time when I knew very little about photography, and was shot with a very low-end camera. I don't even know how many pixels it had, but it offered zero in terms of user-control of the process. I'll be back in Sarasota for New Years and I'll be sure to take my 6490 with me.

Thanks again,

Tom, on Point Pelee, Canada

Here's another of the same bird. It's a pretty nasty crop; the resolution is really low.

Personally speaking, Tom, I like this photo more than the other. The entire subject is in view and the background offers a neat perspective with the vanishing bridge line, bird and horizontal breaker line.
