Outstanding, Norm!

These guys don't know you're there, do they? You're really in a wonderful location to catch these birds in action. How are you set up to get so close?

Great work.

Tom, on Point Pelee, Canada

Hi Norm, great shots as usual. I think the seed in the third picture was a lot heavier than the bird expected. :-)

Norm,
It's always a treat to see your pictures and what you will come up with next.
That first picture reminds me of the Fan Dancer in the movie "The Right Stuff" and in my head I hear the droning "Whomp! whomp! whomp!" of a heliocopter roter blade when I look at that bird trying to lift off with that seed.

Really interesting pictures. I can't wait for your next set.

Thanks, smac

Again, thanks for the kind comments all.

Tom, these are pretty trusting birds overall and it's quite easy to get near as long as one is adjacent to their supermarket landing strip. No blinds or Rambo tactics are necessary for the chickadees as I'm sure that most of you know.

Nice to see that you guys are getting some visual impressions from these somewhat artistic renditions of the classic bird photo. Some of my abstract art background leaks through from time-to-time. Glad to see that some of it is acceptable to a few of you.

Nice action shots Norm !! I get the same effect in early morning when my feeders and perches are in the shadows of the house and the distant yard (background) is bright from the rising sun.... It does make for some interesting shots !!!! Really nice..

Nice job Norm.

Some very creative shots.

I don't know about you but this getting dark at 5:00 is really putting a damper on the photography cause it is dark when I get off work. I have been reduced to taking pictures of the squirrel that runs around in the trees outside my office window. Oh well at least there is that, at least I have a window!

Glad to see you are still getting some opportunities.

By the way I sent you a private message, if you get a second to look at it I am very interested in seeing your response. Thanks!

Hi zoomn, I have responded to your PM. Yes, this getting dark early is causing me a great deal of grief these days as well. The weather here has been excellent all week but all I could do was gaze out the window at it. By home time it's dark. So I look forward to a nice weekend and what do I get...pathetic weather reports of bitter cold on it's way. Go figure.

Anyway, as you can see you ain't alone in the world of frustrated wildlife photogs.

Thanks for dropping in for a peek.
