At first he stayed still so that I wouldn't see him, then when he realized that wasn't working, he ran for his life!

That is amazing. What I want to know is if you noticed it just sitting there or if it happened to move and it caught your eye.

That really blends in well. Is it a chameleon, or is that its natural color?

Thanks for the interest...

These little lizards can be found all over and are usually pretty easy to spot. I spotted this one on a small lime tree.

If you approach them slowly they'll probably do just as this one did - freeze until it can make a quick getaway.

They are not true chameleons but they can change their colours a bit to blend in.
