Taken this Friday at Ed R Levin park in milpitas. When ever I am out there, this phoebe is there posing for me.

Taken with 100-400L, hand held on window sill, no IS.F8, 1/350sec.

Very nice closeup bobbyz. Good pose too.
I swear that Phoebe's must be the nerds of the bird world. There heads are way too big and their legs are too skinny. He even looks a little knock kneed. Poor guy.
What ever the background is it sure does go well with the bird.

Congrats,
smac

Thanks smac. He/she was standing at the edge of the parking lot. Behind the ground slopes down to a lake.

Nice shot of this little guy. They are kind of a disproportionate bird now
that smac mentions it.

Great photo of a Black Phoebe! We have them here in Orange County, CA and they have such a unique chirp too.

Thanks for sharing!

Beep Beep,
Darby :-)

I love that shot of the Black Phoebe and handheld with no IS, you must have a really steady hand. I havea Black Phoebein my garden here in Huntington Beach, that but little guy moves like lightning, he does not pose as yours did. I guess I just need to have that camera sitting on the kitchen table ready for him.

I see a lot of them in the park too, but they are pretty skitty and don't stay around very long. You have some great bird shots, especially since you got all that DSLR equipment.

Thanks for sharing

Nice shot bobbyz. I saw in another post you mentioned a better beamer. Are you using that in this photo? Could you suggest where to find this?

What kind of range are you at in this photo? You really caught this on well.

Any tips for beginners?

Very nice photo bobby, and cute bird. I like the sideways pose and how the backgroundhuesrelate well to the bird's own colors. Exposure great and the ledge could be mistaken for ground, which is nice.
