They are little cuties. There pretty common in our neck of the woods. I have
a herd that comes in to my place on a regular basis. They are really funny.
One will come in and take a nibble at the suet block, hop over and take some
seed, then head off. Then repeat the cycle.
As for the photo itself, I would have cropped it to center the little guy. It seems
a little soft to me, but maybe that's the way you like it.

The branches in the foreground give the impression of a wooded thicket therefore a good habitat shot as well. Did you use manual focus?

Used auto focus, spot mode. Does this look better, Woodmeister. I'm still honing my skill at sharpening.

I haven't seen these guys. Not sure if they are in california or not. BTW - I can see some sharpening halos in the last shot you posted.
