I like the subject. I have had fun shooting crabs in the wild myself. They are fun to watch and a challenge to shoot.

It looks like this could be a touch brighter, or maybe just some contrast. I'd have prefered the crab be larger in the shot but you might not have been able to get close enough.

Yes, I would have liked to have been closer on this shot, but I was standing in line, on a dock platform about 6 feet from the subject. A hasty capture to be sure.

I was lucky awhile back... I went to a place where I knew there were fiddler crabs. They like to hide in holes, but if you get there after the tide goes out you can (if you don't move much) watch them come out and walk around. I have some decent shots of them coming out of the holes and (when I could get good angles on them) them walking around.

Not easy subjects, but fun to try. They are one of the reasons I want a good macro lens. Pity they are so expensive, though.
