This redpoll is taking it easy in a trail left by people walking in the snow. It was nibbling on the snow.

Nicely detailed shot. Good exposure as well. Getting detail in snow and
in the bird is not easy, but you got it here.

Good exposure, it is really hard to hold detail in both snow and everything else.

I took the photo in RAW format and played with the exposure, contrast etc. in the editing process however I had to really do little manipulation. The bird was actually content I believe. It was in a depression in the snow so may have felt secure and it just had its fill of seed from the feeder. The sun was out and life is good. I guess redpolls always look mad about something!

That snow and the feathers are exposed superbly. The snow crystals are like little grains of quartz and the light area of the feathers is not blown. The reds are bright and rich. Great job.
