I shot these images just as the sun was breaking

It's not an effect. Its the way it was:-)

This was shot in the hill country of Putnum County, in a drained resevoir. The sun comes up but for about ten minutes, the "valley" of the resevoir remains dark.

The egrets of course are a blinding white.

I did not think it was an added effect, just that the way it turned out is different. Nice effects of nature I guess.:-)

I really enjoy both for personal reasons (it's good to get up at the crack of dawn) and photographic reasons shooting as early in the morning as possible.

And then again, I'm due to have my head examined...:roll:
