The Male Bufflehead appears to have a black head, but as the light changes, the other colors sudenly become visible

The Red Breasted Merganser is another real beauty. The Male with his crested green head, always looks like he came out of my neighborhood in Manhattan. In this images, the head appears more black than green, once again, it's the angle of the light.

Both of these shots were from a long way off.

that first one is a very unusual looking duck, different to any colors Ive seen.

LOL. I find the Buffle Heads to be SOOOOOO Cute!

When the males make their courtship dance, which is going on now, they lift their wings and twirl around. It reminds me of three years olds dancing in school. They have some other moves....

And the girls are so bored!

It must work, although I've tried it in my neighborhood with little success...:sad:
