This honeyeater is slightly different to most of the others Ive captured, he has a gold head, most others have the black and white coloring over the head area.

Good shutter snaps, alady, always a real treat to see these wild characters and the way that you photograph them.

PS - Have you ever considered getting another colored water bowl or perhaps painting it so that it isn't so bright? I only suggest this because it is so prominent in the photos that it is competing with them for center stage. I remember the orange bowl as much as the birds. This is highly subjective, though, as many probably love the added color. :-)

never even occurred to me that the bowel is so bright. It's terracotta (sp) I may have a look at changing it sometime:-)

Great series. Once again you bring a smile to my face with your shots of these rascals. For some reason I find them humorous - the Jerry Lewis of birds. Couldbe the4th photo - Who's behind me - is someone there? LOL

All very nice shots. The first is my favorite, and yes, I agree they to appear quite comedic.

As far as I know, there are no honeyeater's in the US.
Wish there was, I like them a lot too!

I wonder if that yellow mark means something. Mating season? Different breed?

The way that the white rings the eye adds expression to their face. They are so cute.

Their eyes always give me the impression that they are in at least a mild frenzy....so wide open looking.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Very nice shots. I think two is my favorite because the eye stands out even more in the photo than usual.

I don't think so . . . don't recall ever seeing one and I am sure I would remember a natural comedian like this! Keep them coming, my morning coffee wouldn't be the same without these fanulous shots to browse through!
