One more White Breasted Nuthatch close-up and some red squirrel shots that I liked. All with Canon 400/5.6L on Mark II wide open at F/5.6 and 1/500th or 1/640th at IS0400.

EDITED: Slight crop at bottom and increase to space between tail and frame (to reflect suggestions by zoomn)

Normcar I really like the squirrel pictures. The light is really nice on them.

I like the soft (just right) look of the last photo. It creates a neat effect. That is another great art photo. That should be framed and on the wall somewhere. My only very small minor nit is the crop seems a wee bit tight on the tail. I think the extra room on the bottom with the tree as the focal point really works. Your great eye for composition really shows on that one.

That second one could be a greeting card and I really like the snow in the third photo as well. I always think the snow adds to photos.

Pierre, I don't have the zoom, I have the 400/5.6L prime, and I'm really liking it. Wish it was an F4 but love the light weight.

Thanks zoomn, unfortunately that tail was right at the edge of the original frame and, I agree with you, it would have been nice to have some breathing room at that edge. I appreciate the specificity of your comments. I must say that I can appreciate the snow as a photo prop, but not for much else. I'm getting tired of looking at it these days and I'm good and ready for some nice hot sunshine and some dynamic melting.

I think all of these shots are awesome. I especially like the detail shown in the Nut Hatch. That is one of my favorite birds.
