All shots are good, but I like the first one. Is this bird doing a peacock
imatation, going punk, or just plain having a bad feather day? As far as going
punk, I think I saw a guy in town that almost looked like this.

Yes - Really nice, and I also like the first one. I have an identical shot which after seeing yours, I deleted...

Did'nt I fry your drive? How come you're still able to post?

How much did the snowy charge to put on that show for you. You really got him didn't you. That is the prettiest most weld done pic of an egret that I have ever seen. It is great and so are the others of the great egret. I'm still having trouble with the white egrets, mainly because I can't find them often enough to get more practice. If you will please share your settings on the one in flight. Thanks

Thansk Houston, One can get very close to egrets in palo alto as the rookery is right by the parking lot and they used to people taking shots all the time. Most of times, 70-00 is enough.

I got more in a series where snowy egret is putting on a show. Will post later as I didn't have enough time last night.

For flight shots, I was in AI servo mode. Center focus point only. Aperture priority mode, F7.1 I guess or F6.3. I think ISO was 200. I would mention, that with 100-400 I get lots of flight shots which ar enot in focus. Don't kow if it is 10D or the slow focus on 100-400L. I might get 400f5.6 to see if it improves things.

Hi Bobby

I admire your shots of these Egrets, in fact I admire them SO much that I am envious :-)

So for about a week now I've been exercising my sense of humour and posting that I fried your hard drive, and no one will ever see your pics again....

Apparently I amuse only myself:sad:

Nice shots!!!!!
