To all of you, thanks for the kind remarks.

I use a Nikon D1x and a Swarovski Spotting scope usually with the 800mm adapter. I normally shoot at 400, with an ISO of 500. For shooting these Egrets I go up to 800 or even a thousand, in other words an extra stop or more down, so as not to blow the highlights.

Since my D2x has just arrived, I hope to do better...

In these three shots, I was about 75 feet from the bird.
