The common Pigion, also known as the Rock Dove, lives off the bread crumbs that we throw them. Why would some of them choose to live in the wild? There's a small flock that lives on my beach and seem to prefer finding their own food. How come? Beats me, they're only a mile away from bread crumbs...

They do however nest in the "rocks" of a highway bridge.

I thought living in New York would be more like living in the wild! I think this is a smart bird to get out of there!:-):-)
