Thanks bobby, I wasn't complaining when that one decided to park itself close enough for the 200/1.8 to show it's stuff. :-)

Norm,

I am constantly awed by your posts. Love those Osprey!

Just wondering about your tree swallow here. We have lots of swallows here now and Sibley's and our local Audubon guides tell us the main telling difference between the tree swallow and the violet-green swallow is that the violet green has its white underparts continue up to the sides of its rump. This looks like what you have here. What do you think?

Keep up the good work. Would love to know your process from start to finish.

First of all, FYI as of this post my server will be down for 24 hours so the photos are temporarily in limbo.

David, thanks for the kind compliment. As for identification, I need to look into this because that Tree Swallow just didn't look right to me and there was something different about it that I couldn't pinpoint, except for the fact that it's signature sheen did not seem to exist and was replaced by a duller blue, pretty but not shiny. And I noticed this absence while photographing the hoards as well. The sheen just wasn't evident in any of the birds. SO, maybe you have something here. Thanks for the heads up. A few experts have seen this photoandhave not yet corrected me, but this means little, just that they perhaps mayhave not yet seen what you have written about here and what I suspected may be true.
