A beautiful littleMalachite Kingfisher who graciously waited for me to get a few pics in. They are very shy, however he obliged a few seconds. UnfortunatelyI missed his back view which is the same shiny blue seen on his head. The bird wieghs in at about 15 grams, slightly smaller than his larger cousin, the Giant Kingfisher who weighs about 400 grams

Nice shots. I like the colorful kingfisher. They so hard to get.

Thanks Bobby, yup they are, I think this guy just didn't expect to see me and sort of froze for a while until he realised I was "one of those human things" than flitted off. Anyway, I am grateful for his brief appearance.
