Vultures are quite endangered here in SA, especially the Cape vulture shown here. The cause of the decline in numbers is due to farmers poisoning carcasses to kill jackels which kill their sheep. Some farmers are now "coming to the table" and supplying what they call "vulture's restaurants", where they will dragcarcasses of cattle, zebra or whatever has died to a particular area. Vultures do congregate there for a sit in meal or a quick take-away. We arrived at this "McDonalds" a little late, the birds had flown [I managed to catch this one circling a bit before he flew off], but managed a shot at his leftovers.
