This is with the 1.4xTC on 100-400L on tripod. 1.4xTC only good for slow moving birds in good light.



The above shot is full-frame resized for the web. Following is 100% crop with the 1.4xTC. Shot in RAW but post-processed with USM.

BTW - Here is a shot of the BCNH baby. They have grown fast in last few weeks.



This is with 100-400L on 10D, hand held.

Thanks woodmeister. It is easy getting closer as this rookery is right by the parking lot and these guys are used to people.

Great shots, Bobby! The eye detail and color is amazing and you got great exposure. I agree with Norm on the last shot being best of bunch, but really just the best among a great bunch!
